This experiment was conducted at the experimental field of the Department of Genetics and plant Breeding, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur during the period from December 2015 to May 2016. This research work showed the performance of twelve different hybrids tomato namely BARI tomato 2, BARI Tomato 3, BARI Tomato 4, BARI Tomato 15, BARI Tomato 11, BARI Tomato14, BARI Tomato 15, BARI Tomato 16, Mintoo, Mintoo Super, Shawsan, Unnayan with one test hybrid. The experiment was laid out in the randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. A distinct variation in plant characters and yield performance was noticed among the hybrids. From the research work it was found that the number of days for 50% flowering of test hybrid was statistically identical to BARI Tomato 15, BARI Tomato 16, Mintoo, Unnayan and it required less number of days to flowering than BARI Tomato 3, BARI Tomato 4, BARI Tomato 5, Mintoo Super and Shawsan. The single fruit weight of test hybrid was higher than BARI Tomato 4, BARI Tomato 13, Mintoo Super, Unnayan and it was statistically identical to Shawsan and Mintoo Super. The number of fruits per plant produced by test hybrid was higher than BARI Tomato 3, BARI Tomato 5, BARI Tomato 16, Mintoo Super and Unnayan but statistically similar to BARI Tomato 2, BARI Tomato 4 and Shawsan. Test hybrid produced the highest yield per plant (3.25kg) which was statistically similar to Shawsan. In case of shelf life, the test hybrid showed high shelf life than BARI Tomato 2, BARI Tomato 3, BARI Tomato 13, BARI Tomato 15 and BARI tomato-14 which was statistically significant with test hybrid (15.73). The result revealed that the test hybrid showed better performance for yield and yield contributing traits and storage quality compared to other hybrids.en_US
