    Abstract
A field experiment was carried out at the Agricultural farm of the Agricultural Chemistry Department, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, during the period from February to June, 2016 to study the effect of six levels of 6- Benzylaminopurine (BAP) such as 0, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, ppm designated as T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 respectively on morpho-physiological, chemical properties and yield characters of BRRI dhan28 cultivar. Results showed that the morpho-chemical properties, yield and yield attributes were significantly different due to the levels of 6- BAP. The plant height, root depth, leaf number per plant, flag leaf chlorophyll-b, total carotenoid and protein content, tiller number per hill, panicle length, grain number per panicle; grain, straw and biological yield were increased markedly due to the application of 6-BAP. The highest plant height, root depth, number of tillers hill-1, total chlorophyll content, panicle number hill-1, grain and biological were obtained from 50 ppm BAP spraying at vegetative and pre-flowering stage. The highest yield of BRRI dhan28 cultivar was 5.20 (t ha-1) due to the application of 50 ppm BAP while other applied levels and controlled condition had less pronounced effect on the growth and yield components.
