HEPATOPATHOLOGICAL DISORDER OF CATTLE ENCOUNTERED AT SADAR UPAZILA OF THAKURGAON DISTRICT

Abstract
Hepatopathological disorder of cattle of sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district was
investigated and encountered according to etiological agents. The duration of the
study was six months ranging from January to June, 2015 and the samples were
collected from different slaughter houses of sadar upazila and brought to
pathology laboratory under the Department of Pathology and Parasitology,
HSTU, Dinajpur for detailed examination. The gross morbid lesions were
recorded as per as etiological agent. The samples were preserved at 10% formalin;
trimmed, processed, paraffinized, sectioned, stained with Hemotoxyline and
Eosin (H & E stain) and examined under microscope using different objections.
The lesions were grossly characterized as mild to moderate hepatic damage, cystic
formations, abscessation. The incidence of fasiolosis showed the highest position
(68.75%) followed by hydatidiosis (23.43%), cirrhosis (12.5%), abscess (6.25%) and
mixed infection (7.81%). Among the investigation it was found that the incidence
in female is 54.54% for female and 45.45% for male animal in case of fascioliasis,
60% female and 40% male for hydatidosis, 62.5% for female and 37.5% for male in
case of cirrhosis, 75% for female and 25% for male in case of abscess, , 40% for
female and 60% for male in case of mixed infection.
