dc.description | Goat, the poor man’s cow and the second important livestock in Bangladesh, plays a
vital role to promote both the health and wealth of the nation by supplying meat and
milk of high caloric value and by earning substantial amount of foreign exchange from
exported skin and by- products respectively. The total population of goat in Bangladesh
approximates 27 million (Economic Review, 2010) which should be developed and
increased extensively with the application of technical knowledge in order to meet the
protein scarcity of our nation. Like other livestock, goats are also susceptible to various
disease conditions causing debility and mortality which lead to huge economic loss. | en_US |
