    Abstract
    An experiment was conducted at the Research farm of Crop Physiology and Ecology Department, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur during 14 August to 7 December, 2008 to study the variation in phenology, degree days and yield performance of five fine rice cultivars viz., Rajshahi swarna, Silkumul, Kataribhog, Lal pajam and Sanla as well as soil properties under organic and inorganic cultural conditions. The experiment was laid out in a split plot design with three replications.
