Abstract
An experiment was conducted in the year 2009-2010 at the Agro Service
Centre (ASC), Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC),
at Chehelgazi, Dinajpur to determine the optimum level of irrigation and
potassium on the growth, yield and seed and non seed size of potato tuber cv.
Diamant. In the analyses it was found that the combined effect of irrigation
and potassium treatment at the level of I,K; gave the significantly highest
yield (13.85 Kg / plot) out of 3 irrigations and 4 potassium levels. In the
single effect of I3, the yield of tuber (12.72 Kg / plot) was significantly
highest and at the level of K3, it was significantly higher (12.13 Kg / plot).
Regarding the yield of seed size tuber / plant (184.20 g / plant) of the grade
size 35-45 mm diameter was found significantly highest at combined
treatment level of I;K3. The growth character such as plant height (66.47 cm),
number of leaves per hill (259.90) and diameter of main stem per hill (7.16
mm) were significantly higher at the treatment level of I,. The treatment level
of K; also gave similar result for these characters.
