dc.description | Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the oldest food grains. It belongs to the grass
family Poaceae (Gramineae), and is the only cultivated species in this genus. The
other genera releted to Zea mays are Teosinte and Tripsacum (gama grass), are the
important wild relatives. of Zea mays. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | A field experiment was conducted with 27 maize genotypes at the experiment
field of Genetics and Plant Breeding Department, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science
and Technology University, Dinajpur to study their genetic diversity based on 12
quantitative characters during March 2006 to June 2006. Significant variations exist
among the maize genotypes for all the characters under study as revealed by analysis
of variance against each of the characters. | en_US |
