    Abstract
An experiment was conducted to find out the effect different levels of fertilizer on growth and yield of some selected black cumin genotypes at the research farm and laboratory of Crop Physiology and Ecology Department, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur during November 2013 to April 2014. The experiment was carried out in a two factors Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. One factor consisted of four genotypes (V,- Exotic variety, V.- BARI kalozira-1, V3 - Faridpur local and V4. Natore local) and another factor consisted of three fertilizer levels (F; - 40 Kg N, 20 Kg P and 30 Kg K ha’', F, - 80 Kg N, 30 Kg P and 45 Kg K ha’ and F; - 120 Kg N, 40 Kg P and 60 Kg K ha’). Black cumin genotypes interacted with fertilizer levels significantly to influence dry matter production at different (55, 70, 85 and 100) days after sowing. Both at 85 and 100 days after sowing, Faridpur local (1.21g and 3.19g) and Natore local (1.91g and 3.19g) performed better at lower fertilizer level but Exotic variety performed better at moderate (1.75g and 3.75g) and higher fertilizer level (2.3g and 4.97g) in dry matter production. Exotic variety (5.27) and Natore local (5.40) performed better at lower fertilizer level, Faridpur local (6.07) and Natore local (6.11) performed better at moderate fertilizer level whereas Exotic variety (6.87) and Faridpur local (6.47) performed better at higher fertilizer level in producing primary branch. Exotic variety (15.45, 17.00 and18.28) showed the best performance but Natore local (10.26, 13.21 and 11.34) showed the worst performance in producing fruits at all fertilizer levels. On the other hand Exotic variety (99.13) showed better performance in seed production only at higher fertilizer level. Black cumin genotypes and fertilizer levels interacted significantly to influence grain yield plant” and grain yield ha’'. Exotic variety showed the highest grain yield at higher fertilizer level (3.43g plant’! and 2.30 t plant-1) but BARI kalozira-1(2.95 and 1.95), Faridpur local (2.80 and 1.90) and Natore local (2.69 and 1.80) provided the highest yield at moderate fertilizer level.
