Abstract
Salmonellosis is a common problem in poultry farms of our country. Indiscriminate use
. of antibiotic to control the disease results drug resistance and limits the therapeutic
possibilities in the treatment of the disease. A total of 93 samples were collected from
liver, spleen and intestine of Duck, Pigeon and Quail; either dead or sick, brought for
antibiogram study following isolation of Salmonellae from those birds during the period
from December, 2009 to June, 2010 from three upazilla of Dinajpur District of
Bangladesh. The collected samples were inoculated to different cultural media(NA, MC
agar, EMB agar, Simmons Citrate agar, SS agar, BGA) for the determination of cultural
characteristics of the organism.
