dc.description.abstractNursery diseases of mango and litchi were studied under the Department of Plant Pathology, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur. The experiments were carried out in the Agro-service Center of BADC, BRAC and Horticulture Centre (HRT) nurseries of Dinajpur during the period of January to December 2011. The research was conducted to know the status, incidence and severity of diseases with the response of different mango and litchi varieties in different season. The present study revealed that anthracnose, leaf spot, scab, rust and leaf blight were common major diseases of mango, on the other hand leaf spot and leaf blight were found in litchi as a major diseases in all surveyed location. The incidence and severity of all the diseases were found to vary from variety to variety as well as season to season. The disease incidence of anthracnose, leaf spot, scab, leaf rust, leaf blight of mango and leaf spot and leaf blight of litchi were found maximum in the month of January and moderately in the month of April. The minimum diseases were observed in July to October season in both mango and litchi seedlings. The highest severity of those diseases was found in the month of January in mango and litchi, respectively and the lowest disease severity was found in the season of October. Out of the mango varieties surveyed, occurrences of higher number of diseases were recorded in gopalvog, amrapali, langra, fazli, misrivog, surjapuri and philipine. Incase of the litchi leaf spot, maximum number of disease was found in china-3 and madragi relatively lower in bombai and bedana. On the other hand, litchi leaf blight was highest in madragi, moderate in bombai, relatively lower in chin-3 and bedana.en_US
