dc.description.abstractBank is the financial institution that commits funds today in order to receive a return in the future. Bank involves providing several types of banking services to their clients. Agricultural banking is one of the prominent banking services found in the banking sector. Their motto is to helping the agricultural sector and all the sub sector of agriculture that has greater importance in eradicating the poverty. Agricultural banking is needed very much to the people residing in the rural area. They get loan facilities from the banks and promote the standard of living by engaging the total effort to the agricultural purpose. Some specialized banks are formed to focus on the agricultural sector in the rural area. There is a little number of private banks in Bangladesh to provide assistance to the agricultural sector. Since the northern part of Bangladesh is fall under the negligence due to industrial sector much more emphasis should be given to the agricultural sector. The detail analysis on the agricultural banking in the northern part of Bangladesh taking farmers as the respondents in the rural area the situation of agricultural banking is critically analyzed and interpreted. There are also some suggestions in regards to the agricultural banking, its prospects and its contribution to poverty reduction and economic development.en_US
