    Abstract
Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaf powder and green chiretta (Andrographis paniculata) extract has antiviral, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, hepato protective and various other properties without showing any adverse effects. This experiment was conducted to evaluate the comparative efficacy of moringa leaf powder and green chiretta supplementation in feed as a growth promoter of broiler chicken. A total of 120 one-day-old unsexed broiler chicks were distributed over four treatment groups where T0 kept as a control (basal diet) and others are T1 treated with moringa leaf powder @ 1gm/1kg of feed, T2 treated with green chiretta supplementation (Andose) @ 1gm/1kg of feed and T3 treated with both moringa leaf powder 1gm/1kg of feed and green chiretta supplementation (Andose) @ 1gm/1kg of feed. Weekly observations were recorded for live body weight gain up to 5th weeks and hematological tests were performed at 35th days. Live weight and weight gain of the treatment group were significantly (p<0.05) higher than that of the control group. The results body weight gain of T0, T1, T2 and T3 at the day 35 was 2050 gm, 2090 gm, 2093 gm and 2140 gm respectively. Hematological parameters of experimental birds like TEC of T0, T1, T2 and T3 were 2.30 million/mm3, 2.45 million/mm3, 2.29 million/mm3 and 2.49 million/mm3, Hb gm% of T0, T1, T2 and T3 were 7.05%, 9.69%, 6.79% and 8.32%, PCV of T0, T1, T2 and T3 were 26.59%, 31.71%, 28.56% and 30.85% respectively. It was observed that growth performance like weight gain was increased significantly (p<0.05) in treatment groups (T1, T2 and T3) as compared to control group T0. Hematological parameters like TEC, Hb concentration and PCV were significantly increased (p<0.05) in all the treatment groups as compared to control group T0. Therefore, it may be concluded that combination of moringa leaf powder 1gm/1kg of feed and green chiretta supplementation (Andose) @ 1gm/1kg of feed had better performance in terms of growth performance, cost effectiveness and hematological parameters without showing any detrimental effects in broilers.
