    Abstract
The present study was undertaken to investigate the local immune response of the uterus bearing a persistent luteal cyst in the ovary in cow. The under diagnosed immune effect of persistent luteal cyst could be one that directly or indirectly regulates reproductive performance. This study aimed to see the effect of luteal cyst on local immune response of the uterus. First, uteri were collected (n=36) from different slaughter houses and observed grossly ovary to detect the cystic and control ovary. Uterine swab was collected from the endometrial of the uterus by using sterilized swab sticks and mixed with 10 ml PBS solution for bacterial cell culture. Microbiological identification of uterine sample showed E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria isolation in uterus having luteal cystic in the ovary, whereas in normal uterus showed no growing bacteria. Further, bacterial antibiotic sensitivity test was perform to detect sensitiveness of that bacteria. Result showed there was no antimicrobial resistance, all were found susceptible. Uterine fluid sample were collected from uterus, mixed with 20 ml sterilized normal saline solution, then staining the fluid with giemsa's stain. The result showed presence of immune cells especially neutrophil and lymphocytes in uterus having luteal cyst in the ovary and control sample had no appearance of immune cells. also histopathological examination of ovary and uterus were performed. Histopathological observation showed inflammatory condition exists in the uterine wall in cystic uterus compare to normal uterus. All together it can be concluded that persistent luteal cyst suppressed the local immunity and favor inflammatory condition in the uterine wall.
