This study was designed to investigate the diseases of commercial chicken at Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district of Bangladesh. The research was conducted for a period of six months from November 2022 to April 2023. A total of 870 clinically ill and dead chicken were taken from the study, of which 308 were broiler, 270 were sonali and 292 were layer chickens and the diagnosis was confirmed by postmortem examination of dead chicken. The overall prevalence of viral disease in broiler, sonali and layer chicken were 37.7%, 30.0% and 26.0% and bacterial disease were 20.1%, 15.6% and 42.8% and fungal, protozoan and other diseases were 42.2%, 54.4% and 31.2% respectively. Inclusion body hepatitis 57 (18.5%) in broiler, coccidiosis 88 (32.6%) in sonali chicken and colibacillosis 40 (13.7%) in layer chicken were predominant disease. Broiler chicken of 14-27 days old age group were more affected (63.2%) with inclusion body hepatitis; sonali chicken of 14 40 days’ age were more (60.2%) affected with coccidiosis and layer chicken of more than 101 days age group showed highest prevalence (62.5%) of colibacillosis than other age group. Predominant diseases were more in flock size between 1001-1500, earthen floor type rearing system and in the farms reared by primary educated people. Treatment efficacy against inclusion body hepatitis in broiler, coccidiosis in sonali and colibacillosis in layer was best achieved by treating broiler with a combination of a) Glucose + Sodium-bicarbonate b) Liver tonic (Heparen/Neomeriol) c) Kidney tonic (Nephrocare/Lumix vet) d) Vitamin-C (Rena C/Vita C) (Ascorbic Acid-98%) e) Immunomodulator (Xillian/AIB Vet) and the sonali chicken with a) Diclazuril (dmeria) (2.0%) b) Vitamin-k (Rena K) c) Vitamin-C (Vita C) (Ascorbic Acid-98%) d) Kidney Tonic (Lumix vet) and layer chicken with a) Florfenicol b) Neomycin Sulphate (Neo vet 70) c) Kidney Tonic (Nephrocare) d) Toxin Binder (AquaTox) e) Vitamin E-Selenium (Sel E). It is concluded that different viral, bacterial and protozoan disease are circulating in broiler, sonali and layer chicken and still they are well managed by different commercial drugs in commercial chickens at farm levels.en_US
