EFFECT OF ANAPLASMA INFECTION ON INDUCTION OF STRESS CONDITION IN DAIRY COW
Collections
Abstract
Present study was aimed to examine the role of Anaplasma infection as stress factor in
dairy cow. A total of 20 blood samples were collected from cyclic cow. During blood
collection BCS, body temperature were recorded. Blood samples were analyzed for
protozoa (Anaplasma) identification. Others were considered as control. Blood samples
were further examined to determine the ferritin and C – Reactive Protein (CRP) values as
a stress indicator. Results showed that the body temperature and BCS were significantly
affected (p<0.01) by the presence of Anaplasma infection. Ferritin as a stress indicator
were found significantly elevated and C – Reactive Protein (CRP) level were slightly
increased in the Anaplasma positive group but the result was not significant.
