    Abstract
An experiment was conducted at the experimental field of the Department of Soil Science, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur during November 2012 to March, 2013 to evaluate the varietal performance of rice cultivation with inorganic fertilizer application. The treatments of the experiment involved, T; (Control); T, (25% of the recommended dose of fertilizers); T; (50% of the recommended dose of fertilizers); Ty, (75% of the recommended dose of fertilizers); T; (100% of the recommended dose of fertilizers). And the variety which was involved in the experiment, BR 16, BRRI dhan 28, BRRI dhan 29 and BRRI dhan 50. In case of growth parameter better results shows in the T; treatments i.e. 100% of the recommended dose of fertilizers and BRRI dhan 28 and BRRI dhan 50 shows good results than other varieties. In case of varietal performance the maximum rice yield (32.0 gm/pot in BRRI dhan 28, 36.36 gm/pot in BRRI dhan 50) was noted in T; treatment. BR 16 variety maximum nitrogen content (0.08%) of rice was found in the treatment T;, BRRI dhan 28 variety (0.07 %) in the treatment T;, BRRI dhan 29 (0.07%) in T; and BRRI dhan 50 (0.06 %) in T; & Ts. In case of Phosphorus BR 16 variety maximum P content (31.98 ug/gm soil) in Ts, BRRI dhan 28 (28.34 ug/gm soil) in Ts, BRRI dhan 29 (23.31 ug/gm soil) in T,, BRRI dhan 50 (22.43 pg/gm soil) in Ts. In case of K content BR 16 shows maximum (0.48 meq/100gm soil) in T,, BRRI dhan 28 (0.32 meq/!00gm soil) in Ts, BRRI dhan 50 (0.2 meq/100gm soil) in Ts; treatment. In case of S content BR 16 shows highest (6.28 ug/gm soil) in T,, BRRI dhan 28 (8.05 ug/gm soil) in Ts, BRRI dhan 50 (5.12 ug/gm soil) in T, treatments. In case of Ca, BR 16 variety maximum Ca content (2.43 meq/100gm soil) in T,. BRRI _dhan 28 (1.8 meq/100gm soil) in T,, BRRI dhan 29 (1.86 meq/100gm soil) in T), BRRI dhan 50 (1.64 Meq/100gm soil) in T's. From the above discussion it is clear that application of chemical fertilizers as 75% of the recommended doses for rice cultivation increases the yield of BRRI dhan 16 of rice. Other varieties of rice shows maximum yield with the application of chemical fertilizers as 100% of the recommended doses for rice cultivation increases the yield of rice. NPKS content in the soil was maximum with application of chemical fertilizers as 75% & 100 % of the recommended doses for rice cultivation. Finally we can suggest the farmers lo use 75% fertilizers in case of BRRI dhan 16 variety of rice.
