    Abstract
The research work was conducted at the Agronomy Field, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, during Boro season of 2011-12. The experiment was laid out in Randomized complete block design (RCBD) where the treatments were arranged randomly in the field. Two factors were considered in the experiment namely spacing and method of Guti Urea application. Factor-A Spacing including P; = 20X15 cm, P, = 20X20 cm, P3 = 20X25 cm, and Py = 25 X25 cm Factor-B Guti Urea application including F;= Machine 1.8 g, F, = Machine 2.7 g, F; = Hand 1.8 g, and F,= Hand 2.7 g. Yield contributing characters like Plant height, panicle length, fill grain (no. panicle’'), Panicle (no. m”) are found highest in spacing 20 X 15 cm and Guti Urea application F, 2.7 g by hand. Unfilled grain became less in this interaction. Yield contributing Characters did not show any significant variation in respect of 1000-grain weight. Gain yield was the highest (7.08 t/ha) in spacing 20 x 15 cm and Guti Urea application F, 2.7 g by hand incase of interaction. The highest straw yield (10.27 t/ha) was obtained at plant spacing 20X15 cm and F, treatment i.e 2.7 g guti urea application by hand. Guti Urea placement by hand produced more grain yield than GU placement by machine. Because, hand placement of GU was technically sound rather than mechanical placement and GU was placed by hand in middle point of 4 hills in appropriate depth where proper dropping distance of GU didn’t possible for GU applicator.
