| dc.description.abstract | For crops to meet their nutritional needs, fertilizers to be applied on time, and nutrient utilizat
ion to be more efficient, it is essential to have a thorough understanding of the process by whi
ch nutrients are liberated from manure or compost after being applied through mineralization.
The current study was conducted in a laboratory under aerobic conditions to investigate the
mineralization of P and S in concentrated organic amendments. The following treatments were
in this experiment: T0 = Control, T1 = Tea waste, T2 = Banana peel, T3 = Eggshell, T4 = Mustard
oil cake, T5 = Fishmeal, T6 = Biochar Enriched Organic Amendments at the rate of 10 ton per
hectare. A standard procedure was used to evaluate the physiochemical characteristics of the
available phosphorous (P) and sulfur (S), pH and EC. The study on mineralization using a
standard procedure, the physiochemical characteristics of the available P and S, pH and EC
were evaluated. In the laboratory, the mineralization study was conducted for 90 days at 25 °C
in an aerobic environment. For available P, the T4 treatment showed the maximum values at
day 01, 15, 45, 60, and 75 days (0.8836, 0.7141, 0.6188, 0.9725 and 3.492 mgg-1, respectively).
In some cases, fishmeal also recorded the topmost value for available P. The control treatment
gave the lowest value for available P. The result of the experiment shows that the maximum
available S 0.0176, 0.022, 89.08, 0.1100, 0.1321 and 0.2268 mgg-1 were recorded from T4
treatment at day 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 respectively. In most of the cases, T5 gave the
statistically alike result of the highest result. The T0 treatment gave the lowest value for
available S. Throughout the study periods, the pH and EC varies between the treatments. | en_US |
