dc.description.abstract | Dinajpur district is just like a living organism and the transportation system is just like
the blood circulation system of that living organism. Different motorized and
nonmotorized vehicles are seen running in streets of Dinajpur district to meet the
transportation demand of the inhabitants of the district. Buses play an important role in
Dinajpur district for movement. Measuring passenger satisfaction is very important in
attracting and retaining passenger. The author considered different performance
indicators between Dinajpur-Nekmarad and Dinajpur-Rangpur road to judge passengers
satisfaction like fare collection, contractors with the use of passengers, bus schedule,
carrying extra passengers, internal conditions of bus, driver experience, bus stoppage,
goods transport by bus, cordiality to women and children, condition of bus (fitness),
passenger service during festival and problems of passengers during transport strick.
According to the passenger quitionaire 28% and 48% passengers was moderately
satisfied with fare collection in Dinajpur-Nekmarad and Dinajpur-Rangpur road
respectively. In case of cotractors with the use of passengers 54% and 52% passengers
were moderately satisfied in the both roads respectively.

with bus stoppage, bus schedule, carrying extra passengers, internal conditions of bus,
driver experience, bus stoppage, goods transport by bus, cordiality to women and
children, condition of bus (fitness), passenger service during festival and problems of
passengers during transport strick.
The prevailing of these factors enables customers to be charged reasonable prices and
being satisfied. Those factors identified stabilized public transport and being vital to their
daily usage as a public transport in Dinajpur district and other rest of cities/towns within
the country. Therefore, it is recommended that management required to make sure that
number of public vehicle required are available, number of routes are properly
scheduled, number of passengers for each route is known, and maintenance expenses of
vehicles are minimized as well as running costs in terms of fuel and labour, handling of
pregnancy women, disables and sick people are carefully handled and avoid bad
languages to customers. | en_US |
