    Abstract
The objective of this study was aimed to observe the effect of iodine and cyanocobaloamin effect on meat production as well as meat quality in beef cattle. The study was conducted under the department of Physiology and Pharmacolgy, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University. At around 2 years of age, twenty bulls were randomly divided into 4 group s (A, B, C and D) and each group remains 5 bulls. group A was treated with IV injection of lugol’s iodine @10mg/kg b. wt, group B was treated with Cyanocobalamine (Vitamin B12) 2ml/bull, group C was treated with lugol’s iodine 10mg /kg body weight and cyanocobalamine 2ml/bull and group D was kept for control. During period of trial body weights were recorded on 1 day before treatment staring day (0 day), 30th, 60th and 90th day. Over the course of the trial, observations were recorded for weight gain and after slaughtering observed the meat qualities Such as meat pH, presence of cyanocobalamin in meat, meat colour and meat odour. Gaining weight was increased in all treated group s in respect to the control group and highest was recorded in combine treatment of iodine and cyanocobalamine supplemented group (group C). No significant (p>0.05) differences were observed among the treatment group s in case of pH value, odour and colour of meat in respect to the control group after treatment. The present study reveals that combine iodine and cyanocobalamine in beef cattle supplemented group (group C) has given better result over other group s in respect to increase body weight and meat quality without making any health hazard of indigenous beef cattle.
