    Abstract
The experiment was conducted at Wheat Research Centre (WRC), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Nashipur, Dinajpur during June 2015 to October 2015 in split plot design with three replications to evaluate the performance of different pre- and post-emergence herbicides in zero-dry till direct seeded Aman rice. Pre-emergence herbicides were Pendimathalin (Panida) 1000 g a.i. ha-1, Oxadiazon (Ronstar) 500 g a.i. ha-1 and post-emergence herbicides were Bispyribac Sodium (Nominee Gold) 25g a.i. ha-1, Bispyribac Sodium (Nominee Gold) + Pyrazosulfuron (Sathi) 25 g + 20 g a.i. ha-1, Fenaxoprop (Whipsuper) + Ethoxysulfuron (Sunrice) 56g + 18g a.i. ha-1, Fenoxoprop (Whipsuper) fb Halosulfuron (Sempra) 56 g fb 67 g a.i. ha-1. Results showed that all types (broadleaf, grass, sedge) of weed were effectively controlled by sequential use of pre- and post-emergence herbicides. Considering on plant growth, yield and yield attributing of DSR Aman rice, all parameters were significantly influenced by application of pre-emergence herbicides (Pendimathalin, Oxadiazon) at immediately after rice seedingfollowed by post-emergenceherbicides (Bispyribac Sodium, Bispyribac Sodium + Pyrazosulfuron, Fenaxoprop + Ethoxysulfuron, Fenoxoprop fb Halosulfuron) applied at 15 DAS (days after seeding). Among the herbicides, the highest grain yield (4780 kg ha-1) was found in sequential use of pre-emergence herbicides Pendimathalin applied at immediately after rice seeding with post-emergence herbicides Fenoxopropfb Halosulfuron, which was statistically similar to sequential use of pre-emergence herbicide Oxadiazon in combination with BispyribacSodium, Fenoxoprop fb Halosulfuron and Bispyribac-Sodium + Pyrazosulfuron. Therefore, sequential use of pre-emergence herbicides Pendimathalin and Oxadiazon applied at immediately after rice seeding with post-emergence herbicides Fenoxoprop fb Halosulfuron, BispyribacSodium, and Bispyribac-Sodium + Pyrazosulfuron applied at 15 DAS may be recommended for weed control as well as higher grain yield of zero-dry till direct seeded Aman rice.
