A Thesis By MD. SHAMIM Student No. 1705209 Submitted to the Department of Crop Physiology and Ecology Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CROP PHYSIOLOGY AND ECOLOGYen_US
A field experiment was conducted at the Crop Physiology and Ecology research field of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur during the period from July to November 2018 with a view to evaluate the Effect of integrated use of organic manures and inorganic fertilizers on performance of BINA Dhan-7 on the growth and yield of Aman rice (BINA Dhan-7). The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with six treatments and three replications. The treatments were, T0 = Control, T1 = Recommended Fertilizer Doses (RDF), T2 = 75 % of RDF and 10 t ha-1 cowdung, T3= 75 % of RDF and 5 t ha-1 poultry manure, T4= 75 % of RDF, 10 t ha-1 cowdung and 5 t ha-1 poultry manure and T5= 50 % of RDF, 10 t ha-1 cowdung and 5 t ha-1 poultry manure. Data were collected on plant height, number of leaves per hill at different days after transplanting, number of tillers per hill at different days after transplanting, SPAD value, leaf area, number of filled and unfilled grains per panicle, panicle length, 1000-grain weight, grain and biological yields per square meter. The use of organic manures (cowdung and poultry manure) along with chemical fertilizers showed better performance in respect of growth, grain yield and yield contributing characters compared to fertilizers only. Application of 10 t ha-1 cowdung and 5 t ha-1 poultry manure alone can reduce 25 % in organic fertilizer application with substantial increase in grain yield. Combined application of 10 t ha-1 cowdung and 5 t ha-1 poultry manure can reduce 50% inorganic fertilizer application with substantial increase in grain yield.en_US
