The experiment was conducted at research field and laboratory in the Department of Crop Physiology and Ecology, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, during the period of November 2016 to March 2017 to study the effects of naphthalene acetic acid on the yield attributes and yield of tomato varieties. The experiment was laid out in a split plot design with three replications. The experiment comprised of two sets of factors such as A: Four NAA levels like, C0= No NAA application (control), C1= Spray with 10 ppm NAA, C2= Spray with 20 ppm NAA and C3= Spray with 30 ppm NAA. B: three tomato varieties such as, V1= Manik, V2= Ratan and V3= Provin. In the present study, naphthalene acetic acid was assigned as main plot treatment and varieties for sub-plot treatment. Naphthalene acetic acid was given at three stages namely root soaking before transplanting, vegetative and flowering stages. Application of C3naphthalene acetic acid produced tallest plant, maximum number of branches, leaves at all growth stages and C0 gave the reverse results in all tomato varieties. Application of C3naphthalene acetic acid produced maximum number of days to attain first flower initiation and fruit setting while C0 naphthalene acetic acid gave the reverse results in all tomato varieties. Most of the yield contributing characteristics i.e; number of fruit cluster plant-1 , number of fruit cluster-1 , number of fruit plant-1 , weight tomato-1 , yield per plant, yield per plot and yield per hectare were increased with increment of concentration of naphthalene acetic acid in all varieties compared to control. Among the concentration levels in C3 (Spray with 30 ppm NAA) all the varieties performed better performance and Ratan was the best when sprayed with 30 ppm NAA.en_US
