An experiment was conducted at research field and laboratory in the Department of Crop Physiology and Ecology, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, during the period of April to August, 2016 to study the effect of spacings and different levels of nitrogen application on the yield of Aus rice cv. BRRI dhan55. Three spacings viz. 20cm x 25cm, 20cm x 16.5cm, 20cm x 12.5cm and four different nitrogen doses viz. N0 = Control, N1 = 100 kg nitrogen ha-1 , N2 = 130 kg nitrogen ha-1 and N3=160 kg nitrogen ha-1were included in the study. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Results showed that the effect of spacing had significant variation in respect of plant height, total tillers hill-1 , number of effective tillers hill-1 , number of non-effective tillers hill-1 , panicle length, grains panicle-1 , grain yield, TDM, LAI, CGR, RGR, NAR, straw yield, biological yield and harvest index. The highest number of leaf (96.59), number of total tillers hill-1 (23.11), number of effective tillers hill-1 (13.83), panicle length (21.83), maximum LAI, maximum CGR, maximum RGR, highest NAR and 1000-grain weight (24.30g) were found with (20cm x 25cm) spacing. The highest plant height (118.42 cm), grain yield (3.4 t ha-1 ), TDM (20 cm × 12.5 cm), biological yield (9.10 t ha-1 ) and harvest index were obtained from 20cm x 12.5cm spacing. Different nitrogen doses also showed significant effect on all the parameters. The highest grain yield (3.29 t ha-1 ) was obtained from N2 (130 kg N ha-1 ), while the lowest grain yield (2.5 t ha-1 ) was obtained from N0 (Control). The highest grain yield (3.5 t ha-1 ) was obtained from the interaction of (S3N2) while the lowest grain yield (2.2 t ha-1 ) was found from the interaction between (S1N0), highest TDM production from N2 (130 kg N ha-1 ), highest LAI found on N2 (130 kg N ha-1 ), CGR also increased in N2 (130 kg N ha-1 ), maximum RGR obtained at N2 (130 kg N ha1 ), maximum NAR obtained from N2 (130 kg N ha-1 ). Results of the present study revealed that 20cm x 12.5cm spacing with 130 kg N ha1 combination was the best for obtaining maximum grain yield of Aus rice cv. BRRI dhan 55en_US
