    Abstract
The present research work was conducted at the field laboratory, Department of Agronomy, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur during the period from April, 2018 to June, 2018 to study the effects of different concentrations of NAA (0 ppm, 50 ppm, and 100 ppm) on growth and yield of three mungbean varieties (BARI Mung-6, BARI Mung-7, and BARI Mung-8). The experiment was laid out in two factors complete randomized design (CRD) with three replications. All the collected data were statistically analyzed and the mean differences among the treatments were compared by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results revealed that significant variations existed between the varieties in respect of morphological characteristics and yield contributing characters like plant height, leaf area, plant water relations, number of pods plant-1 , number of seeds pod-1 , 1000-seed weight, seed yield, biological yield and harvest index. BARI Mung-7 produced the tallest plant (82.00 cm), the largest leaf area (0.78 cm2 ), the best plant water relations (74.57), the maximum number of pods plant-1 (21.19), the highest number of seeds pod-1 (11.78), 1000- seed weight (295.3), the seed yield (0.65 t ha-1 ), the biological yield (0.94 t ha-1 ) and harvest index (41.33%). BARI Mung-7 and 100 ppm of NAA concentration in their combination ware recorded the tallest plant (89.77 cm), maximum stover yield (0.66), largest leaf area (0.85 cm2 ) and best of plant water relation (77.38). At the combination of BARI Mung-7 and 50 ppm were recorded highest number of seeds pod-1 (12.23), maximum number of pods plant-1 (29.81), highest 1000- seed weight (350.4), total seed yield (0.85 t ha-1 ) and biological yield (0.98 t ha-1 ). Present study indicates that V2 (BARI Mung-7) and N2 (50 ppm) in their combination produced the highest values for maximum parameters. Thus, NAA (50 ppm) would be successfully used for commercial mungbean production.
