The experiment was conducted at the research field, Department of Agronomy, Hajee Mohammed Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, Bangladesh during the period from January 2019 to July 2019 to evaluate Yield and yield contributing characteristics of Maize as influenced by Mannitol. The experiment was consist of two factors, like factor A Varieties ( Normally BARI Hybrid Bhutta-7, BARI Hybrid Bhutta-9, and BARI Hybrid Bhutta-13) and factor B plant growth regulator ( 0, 50, and 100 PPM ) the experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replication. All the collected data were statistically analyzed and the mean difference among the treatments was compared by Duncan’s multiple Range test (DMRT). the result of the experiment revealed that significant variations existed between the varieties in respect of morphological characteristics and yield contributing characters like plant height, Cob weight, Cob length, Cob diameter, No of rows cob-1 No of grains row-1 No of grains cob-1 1000 grain weight, Grain yield cob-1 Grain yield (t ha-1 ) Stover yield plot-1 Straw yield (t ha,-1) Biological yield (t ha-1 ) and harvest index. BARI Hybrid Bhutta-13 (V3) produced highest plant height (221.7 cm), largest cob weight (159.2 g), longest cob length (16.82 cm), maximum cob diameter (16.13 cm), highest No of rows cob-1 (17.78), maximum No of grains row -1 (33.52), maximum No of grains cob-1 (422.6), 1000 grain weight (240.0), highest grain yield cob-1 (129.5 g), maximum grain yield (5.819 T ha-1 ), highest yield (88.97 g) maximum straw yield (4.844 t ha-1 ), highest biological yield (8.960 t ha-1 ), and harvest index (57.60 %) BARI Hybrid Bhutta-9 (V2) was the second variety that showed significant variation to the all other varieties except BARI Hybrid Bhutta-13 (V3) where BARI Hybrid bhutta-7 was recorded for the least variety in respect of morphological characteristics and yield contributing characters like plant height (199.1 cm), cob weight (133.0 g), cob length (15.09 cm), cob diameter (15.12 cm), No of rows cob-1 (13.90), No of grains row-1 (27.24), No of grains cob-1 (367), 1000 grain weight (181.7), grain yield cob-1 (120.2 g), grain yield (4.808 Ton ha-1 ), Stover yield (74.78 g), straw yield (3.549 t ha-1 ), Biological yield (8.357 t ha-1 ). And harvest index (54.58 %). The present study indicates that V3 (BARI Hybrid bhutta-13) and M2 (Mannitol 100 ppm) in their concentration produced the highest values for maximum parameters. Therefore Mannitol (100 ppm) would be successfully used for commercial Maize production.en_US
