This study was conducted to determine the efficacy of the dietary effect of different &#13;
levels of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) and green tea (Camellia sinensis) powder on &#13;
growth performance and carcass traits of commercial broiler. The study was conducted at &#13;
the Central Poultry farm of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology &#13;
University, Dinajpur during the period from 23 June to 20 July, 2023. A total of 120, day &#13;
old broiler chicks (Hubbard-EP) were randomly and equally distributed to 4 groups &#13;
having 3 replicates of 10 birds each. The birds were grouped as T0, T1, T2 and T3 group &#13;
without Ginger and Green tea powder (control group), Ginger powder 0.5gm/kg feed, &#13;
Green tea powder 0.5gm/kg feed and (Ginger powder 0.25g and Green tea powder &#13;
0.25g)/kg feed respectively. Body weight gains, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), mortality &#13;
(%) and meat yield traits were recorded. The collected data were analyzed by using &#13;
ANOVA with SPSS version 20. Feed intake (g/bird) was significantly (P&lt;0.05) differed &#13;
among the dietary treatment groups. The highest feed intake was significantly (P&lt;0.05) &#13;
higher in T3 (2190.16±33.22), followed by T1 (2176.97±41.4), T0 (2127.96±20.72) and &#13;
T2 (2070.74±12) respectively. Body weight gain (g) and FCR were significantly &#13;
(P&lt;0.05) differed among the dietary treatment groups. The highest body weight gain (g) &#13;
was observed significantly (P&lt;0.05) higher in T2 (1561.63±16.79), followed by T3 &#13;
(1509.51±6.11), T1 (1496.66±19.88) and T0 (1416.93±8.64), respectively. The highest &#13;
FCR was found in T0 (1.50±2.40) and the lowest FCR in T2 (1.33±0.66), the intermediate &#13;
in T1 (1.48±0.06) 1.45±2.08) and T3 (1.45±5.44), respectively. It was found that there &#13;
was significant (P&lt;0.05) difference among the dietary treatment groups in case of live &#13;
weight (g), carcass weight (g), breast weight (g), thigh meat weight (g), but there was &#13;
almost similar (P&gt;0.05) among the dietary treatment  groups in case of  head weight (g), &#13;
shank  weight (g), liver weight (g), heart weight (g), spleen weight (g), intestine weight &#13;
(g). Live weight, carcass meat weight, breast weight thigh weight was significantly &#13;
(P&lt;0.05) higher in treatment T2 group compared to control group T0. Mortality was &#13;
found in T0 (3.33%) and in T2 (3.33%) dietary treatment groups during experimental &#13;
period. Based on the result it could be concluded that green tea powder 0.5gm/kg feed &#13;
may be used in broiler diet as growth promoter and it may also serve as an antioxidant.

This study was conducted to determine the comparative effects of acidic and alkaline &#13;
drinking water containing Acetic acid and Sodium Bicarbonate on growth performance, &#13;
feed conversion ratio (FCR), livability, mortality and carcass traits in commercial &#13;
broilers. The study location was the Central Poultry farm of Hajee Mohammad Danesh &#13;
Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, from 16 August to 12 September (28 &#13;
days), 2023. A total of 210, day old broiler chicks (Efficiency Plus-Hubbard) were &#13;
randomly and equally distributed to 7 groups having 3 replicates of 10 birds in each. The &#13;
birds were grouped as T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 group of which T0 was with normal &#13;
water (control group) and T1, T2 and T3 drinking water was treated with 0.25ml/L, &#13;
0.33ml/L and 0.5ml/L Acetic Acid respectively. T4, T5 and T6 group was treated with &#13;
Sodium Bicarbonate Powder at the rate of 0.5gm/L, 1gm/L and 1.5gm/L drinking water. &#13;
Data were analyzed by using ANOVA with SPSS version 22. The highest environmental &#13;
temperature during research period was 38.70C with 96% humidity. The feed intake &#13;
(gm/broiler) at the age of 28 days in T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 was 2327.33, 2362.33, &#13;
2330.66, 2323.00, 2235.33, 2412.00 and 2293.33, respectively. The live body weight in &#13;
T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 was 1609.00, 1772.00, 1741.33, 1698.00, 1653.33, 1727.00 &#13;
and 1629.33, respectively. The feed conversion ratio (FCR) in T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and &#13;
T6 was 1.44, 1.33, 1.34, 1.36, 1.35, 1.39 and 1.40, respectively. The carcass weight in T0, &#13;
T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 was 986.00, 1051.33, 1041.33, 1022.00, 995.33, 1036.00 and &#13;
1002.00, respectively. In T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6 livability was 93.33%, 100%, &#13;
96.67%, 100%, 96.67%, 96.67% and 93.33% respectively and mortality was 6.67%, &#13;
0.00%, 3.33%, 0.00%, 3.33%, 3.33% and 6.67% respectively. Considering the above &#13;
facts it may be concluded that Acetic Acid is better than Sodium Bicarbonate in &#13;
production performance of commercial broiler and specifically supplementation of &#13;
0.33ml/L of Acetic Acid had positive significant effect on feed intake, live body weight, &#13;
carcass weight, FCR, livability and mortality. Therefore, Acetic Acid can be used in &#13;
broiler diet for better performance than Sodium Bicarbonate.

This experiment aimed to investigate the effect of ginger (Zingiber officinale) powder&#13;
on the performance of commercial broiler chicken. In this study ninety six (96) Cobb500 day old chicks of the similar weight divided into 4 groups, each group consists of 3&#13;
replicates and containing 8 birds in erach replication and experiment period are 4&#13;
weeks. Treatment groups included T0= control, T1= 0.5g ginger powder per kg diet, T2&#13;
= 1g ginger powder per kg diet T3 =2g ginger powder per kg diet Average weight gain,&#13;
feed consumption, feed efficiency, dressing yield and survivability were used as criteria&#13;
of response to feeding ginger powder. Organs weight including heart, liver and gizzard&#13;
were also recorded. The mean body weight per broiler was 1585.74, 1634.07, 1703.9&#13;
and 1840.27g in 28 days for the treatment of groups T0, T1, T2, and T3, respectively.&#13;
The highest weight gain was found in T3(1840.27g) P&lt;0.01). The highest body weight&#13;
gain was found in T3 (1840.27g) compared to the control. The average feed&#13;
consumption per broiler was 2886.33, 2680.5, 2781.93 and 2802.2 g (P&lt;0.01) in 28&#13;
days for the groups of T0, T1, T2, and T3, respectively. The average feed efficiency&#13;
(feed/gain) was 1.82, 1.64, 1.63 and 1.52 (P&lt;0.01) in 28 days for group T0, T1, T2, and&#13;
T3, respectively. The FCR was significant(P&lt;0.01) lowest in T3 . The mean dressing&#13;
yield was 56.16%, 59.63%, 58.89% and 60.42% (P&lt;0.01) for the groups of T0, T1, T2,&#13;
and T3, respectively. The average weight of abdominal fat was 2.51, 1.82, 1.67 and&#13;
1.58g (P&lt;0.01) and heart was 8.28, 8.46, 9.30 and 9.41g (P&lt;0.05). The average weight&#13;
of liver was 41.1, 43.5, 42.2 and 46.5g (P&gt;0.05) for the groups of T0, T1, T2, and T3,&#13;
respectively. The mean gizzard weight was 38.57, 42.47, 45.77 and 46.5g (P&gt;0.05) for&#13;
the groups of T0, T1, T2, and T3, respectively. Survivability was 98.67%, 100%, 100%&#13;
and 100% (P&gt;0.05) for the groups of T0, T1, T2, and T3, respectively. It may be&#13;
concluded that the use of ginger (Zingiber officinale) as feed additive 2gm ginger&#13;
powder per kg diet enhances the overall performance of broiler chicks.

To investigate the effects of feeding different level of Fennel (Foeniculum vulgaris L.)&#13;
powder on the performance of broiler during summer (September-October), 2019. Four&#13;
experimental diets designated as T0, T1, T2 and T3 having 0%, 0.5%, 1% and 2% dried Fennel&#13;
(Foeniculum vulgaris L.) powder was fed to (96) vigorous day-old Broiler chicks. The chicks&#13;
were, randomly and equally distributed to 4 treatments having 3 replicates of 8 birds each.&#13;
The experiment was lasted for 35 days. Average weight gain, feed consumption, feed&#13;
efficiency, dressing yield and survivability were used as the criteria of response to feeding the&#13;
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgaris L.) powder. Organs weight including heart, liver and gizzard&#13;
were also recorded. Results showed that addition of Fennel (Foeniculum vulgaris L.) powder&#13;
increased the body weight (P&lt;0.05) in broiler irrespective of doses and the mean body&#13;
weight per broiler were 1298.69, 1416.58, 1463.59 and 1433.14g in the T0, T1, T2, and T3,&#13;
respectively (P&lt;0.05). The average feed consumption per broiler were 2455.82, 2244.08,&#13;
2235.62 and 2223.61g (P&lt;0.05) in the T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. The feed conversion&#13;
ratio (feed/gain) were 1.48, 1.20, 1.17 and 1.19 (P&lt;0.05) in the T0, T1, T2 and T3,&#13;
respectively. The mean dressing yield were 58.32%, 59.00%, 62.25% and 61.41% (P&lt;0.05)&#13;
for the groups of T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. The average weights of abdominal fat were&#13;
2.73, 1.73, 1.59 and 1.63g (P&lt;0.05) and where the heart weights were 6.46, 7.30, 8.1 and 7.5g&#13;
(P&lt;0.05), in T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. The average weights of liver were 38.1, 38.52,&#13;
41.21 and 39.98g (P&gt;0.05) in the T0, T1, T2 and T3, respectively. The mean gizzard weights&#13;
were 37.47, 37.56, 38.77 and 37.8g (P&gt;0.05) for the groups of T0, T1, T2, and T3,&#13;
respectively. It was concluded that Fennel (Foeniculum vulgaris L.) powder at 1 to 28 days of&#13;
age at the level of 0.5%, 1% and 2% be used as feed additive to enhance overall performance&#13;
of broiler.
